Ward Assistance - Horder / Medical Day Unit / CCU

Volunteers assist the Horder Ward hostess with serving meals to patients (lunchtime and evenings) and they support the ward staff with ensuring that visitors know where the facilities are within the Ward and hospital.   With the recent expansion of Horder Ward to a 16 bed unit we will also be offering support for breakfast.

Generally, we would expect a Ward Assistant to have some general volunteering experience in other departments before taking on a role in Horder.

We also offer support in the Medical Day Unit for Prostate Cancer, trial patients on a Thursday morning.    And, support for Sarcoma trial patients on a Monday afternoon.

And, offer adhoc administrative support within the Critical Care Unit.
