The Garden and Flowers

The Garden Terrace is located near Wallace Wing Reception, between the Pharmacy and the stairs to Outpatients. Having been awarded second place in the London Garden Society's Competition in 2018, the Friends were honoured to be visited by HRH The Duke of Wessex together with the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea. Since then, the garden has undergone major renovation with new seating as well as seasonally planted pots and containers. The garden is overseen by long standing volunteer Marie Stacy and the planting team. There are also fourteen volunteers who look after the flowers for patients on the wards, daily which is overseen by Anneka MacThomas. Here at the Royal Marsden, we are one of the few remaining hospitals to allow fresh flowers at the bedside. |
