Unsung Heroes

Jane Brighty

Why:
For on a day when egg mayo was off the menu in the cafe, she took the initiative to try out a few new sandwich fillers including marmite, sea-food cocktail and turkey.  The figures are yet to be reviewed but the Marmite proved to be a winner, and was creatively combined with various fillers including cheese, lettuce and cucumber.  Thank you Jane for your inspired creativity and solution based approach. The patients loved the straw poll and you brightened up our day.

Nominated by:  Camilla Callander, Secretary, October 2019

Sally & Roger Robotham

Why:  For managing, collecting, counting and reporting back on funds raised via our collection tins of which there are around 40 in and outside the hospital.  Raising around £12k each year, this is a massive task and we are hugely grateful to both for quietly and very efficiently going about the task of summing all that loose change up.  We are very grateful.  Thank you.

Nominated by:  Jacquie Bellamy, Treasurer. September 2019

Camilla Callander, Secretary to the Friends

Why:  For being such a warm and welcoming face in the Office for all our lovely volunteers and for working so hard and uncomplainingly to keep the cafe rota going during the summer months when so many of our volunteers are away. Thank you, Camilla

Nominated by:  Emma Rogers and Linda Wimble, Co-Chairs, August 2019
