We don't like to blow our own trumpet too much but maybe a little peep every now and again is acceptable.  Here are a few of the thank you's that we have received from the wonderful staff at The Royal Marsden, Chelsea this year.

We are proud to be able to help fund equipment, services and amenities which might not otherwise be available to patients, their carers & staff.  It's what we are here for and it's why we do what we do. So thank you. To our volunteers, our friends, our donors and our fundraisers.  Each of you is a Friend and as we all know, friendships are priceless.

£7,700

Dear Friends of the Royal Marsden

I would like to say a very big thank you for your kind generosity in providing the RDAC Chelsea department with a bladder scanner.
The provision of the bladder scanner is going to ensure patients attending the clinic will have a much better experience as they will not experience delays due to lack of equipment.
We hope that this will improve the waiting times patients are currently experiencing in the department.

On behalf of the RDAC team I would like to express my gratitude and say Thank you so much.
 Kind regards
Laura

Speech & Language Therapy
Endoscopic Evaluation System x 1

Oct 2018
£29,000

Dear Friends,
Thank you for the opportunity to meet and speak with you last week.

On behalf of the Speech and Language Therapy Team, I am writing to thank you so much for your generous support of our business case last week.

The FEES service will make an enormous difference to how we assess and help people with eating, drinking and swallowing problems before, during and after their cancer treatment. It will also mean that for our more unwell patients, for example those on the critical care unit, we will be able to carry out detailed assessments at the bedside.

We would very much like to show the the equipment in use once it has been acquired. In addition, we will evaluate how the FEES equipment has benefited patients, not only through the rigorous collection of our swallowing measures, but through the collection of feedback to understand the real value to patients themselves.

Once again, and on behalf of the whole Department, thank you for your kind and generous support to acquire equipment which will ensure we can continue to offer the highest quality, and now enhanced, service to our patients in Chelsea.

Best wishes,

Dr. Justin Roe

Speech & Language Therapy
TIMs machine x 1

Nov 2019
£16,500

Dear Emma, Linda and all the Friends,

A huge thank you from the SLT Department for funding our new TIMS machine. We are so delighted that we are now able to offer our Chelsea patients the same service received by Sutton. It has only been through your kind generosity that we have been able to significantly enhance our clinical practice and be able to work in partnership with patients by showing them clear images of their swallowing disorders. This biofeedback is immensely important to ensure we have engagement in our therapy programmes, educate our patients  and return them to eating and drinking and improve their quality of life.

We look forward to showing you our new equipment and thank you once again.

With very best wishes,
 Kate and Justin
