The story of how this concert came into being concerns two piano-playing Philips…..
The first is my brother, Philip Whalley, who is being treated at The Royal Marsden, Chelsea under Professor Sanjay Popat. Over the last few years (pre-Covid) Philip has played the piano in the foyer of The Royal Marsden, Chelsea on Saturday mornings.
The second is my dear friend from university days, Philip Lambert, who has kindly given his time and energies into composing and practising for this very special recital. His classical style is vibrant, exciting, profound, beautiful and relevant. It is such a privilege to listen to him.
The piano is the connection.
I have chosen to organise this concert, with the help and support of the Friends of The Royal Marsden, Chelsea to raise funds for their wonderful charity. We hope that you will be able to come to what will be, without doubt, an unforgettable evening. Thank you.
