Dahlia Tea Party 2019
Dunsborough Park, Surrey
It was a great day out for the Friends when they were invited to be the beneficiary charity at the RHS Open Day at Dunsborough House, Ripley in September 2019.The weather was gorgeous, the gardens glorious as we 'pinnied' up for service. Dunsborough House was built in 1580 as a farmhouse and part of the estates of Newark Abbey. The Sweerts family, who are the current owners have 7 open Days, one of which was the magnificent Dahlia Day when all the amazing flowers were in full bloom. After four hours serving tea, and cakes to around 400 thirsty visitors, the Friends raised £1,300 which will go towards buying new equipment for the benefit of patients and staff at the hospital. Thanks to everyone who donated or sponsored cakes as well as to those who helped on the day. We couldn't have done it without you. |
